Gary Blanck has been a Certified Public Accountant for twenty-six years.  He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from Central Michigan University in 1990 and passed the CPA exam in 1995. In January of 1992, Mr. Blanck joined the Certified Public Accounting firm, Swad & Company.  For the past 30 years, Mr. Blanck has worked with closely held companies and their owners providing tax, and general business planning as well as providing financial audit and review services for the companies.  Over the years, Gary has established a strong reputation, as well as a large client base, within the construction industry and in franchising. He recognized many years ago that although accounting methods may be similar, each industry has its own very distinct and complex set of accounting guidelines, as well as tax issues that can make them unique compared to other industries. He also recognized that in order to provide clients with the best possible service, he must go beyond his client’s expectations.  Gary places a “great deal of emphasis” on providing timely, accurate, and meaningful financial information to business owners.  In order to be meaningful, Gary spends time educating business owners and their staff on all financial aspects of the business as well as providing an extensive understanding of the financial and tax issues unique to their industry. 

Gary is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) as well as a very active member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA), currently serving on the association's Board of Directors. He has also been an active member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accounts Construction Task Force Committee for the past 25 years and has served as its’ Chairperson on three separate terms. Gary is a member of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) as well as the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
